Built in 1731, the Bird In Hand was licensed as a tavern in the early 1800s. We offer 3 guest rooms in the main house, each with private bath. Two of the rooms have fireplaces and queen sized beds. The 3rd room has a full bed and can add a twin cot. The cottage is located behind the house and is a fully equipped studio apartment with queen sized bed, fireplace, kitchenette, bath, and cable TV. All rooms are furnished with antiques and period reproductions. The Tavern room includes a large cooking hearth and original beehive oven. The room still includes original features such as wide chestnut floorboards and paneled walls. Two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, including perennial gardens and an old apple orchard, are available for guests to stroll at their leisure.
